Hey everyone,
I have been using LXDE for a little while now & I am really liking how lightweight it is compared to other desktop environments. But I am looking to tweak it a bit to make it even more responsive and better suited to my needs; I am interested in customizing the panel, managing startup apps & making sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
Does anyone have tips for optimizing LXDE performance on older hardware? I have read that LXDE can be quite fast out of the box but I am wondering if there are any settings or small tweaks that can make a noticeable differenc.
There are any apps or plugins you suggest to enhance the LXDE experience ??
As well, I found these resources when doing research on this; https://forum.lxde.org/viewtopic.php?sf-featurest=42384 & if anyone have any resources, tutorials or personal experiences please share with me, It would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you…….

Re: How to Customize LXDE for Better Performance?
Welcome to the lxde forum. Recommend that you read a few of ziggi's posts on this forum. His efforts are in the direction of speed and resource conservation, eliminating applications that he does not use and tweaking the remainder. Lxde, of course, does you little good if you start with a bloated OS and retain everything the developers think that you need. Which OS are you using?
