Future of LXDE

Post by mccfrank1 »

I am curious as to the immediate future of LXDE. I run several distros in VMs under OpenSuse Tumbleweed
and, one of them ZORIN OS, warns when you try to install LXDE that the desktop is not maintained any longer.
I have also noticed when updating my Tumbleweed install which runs LXDE as well as other Desktops
that it has been a very long time since any LXDE software is updated.

That being said I have never had any problems with LXDE !

Does anyone have any info on the future of this Desktop ?

If it ain't broke don't try to fix it

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. 8-) = LXDE
"It seems that perfection is reached not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away"
My principle – Need I say more? 8-)

Sorry to wander off topic however it is such a rare sight to read anything quite so lyrical on any forum for computers that I just had to say how totally justified you praise of LXDE really is, clean, simple and wonderfully configurable for all pedants. Currently running well on Debian 11 shortly going to 12.
