Hi guys, I've installed LXDE according to the CRUX guide (http://wiki.lxde.org/en/CRUX), yet am having trouble getting it to start. Since KDE is the dominant DE on this machine, KDM is in place and according to that it should have been able to take care of LXDE automatically (allegedly), yet it doesn't appear in the list at the login screen. Perhaps I'm missing something, or not right elsewhere?
I also tried to start it manually, just sat there doing nothing, and attempted with Slim, which kept moaning "Failed to execute login command".
Any help would be appreciated
Trouble starting LXDE
Re: Trouble starting LXDE
I've been having the same problem.
Why is LXDE using a huge app like GDM for log ins, anyway?

1. GDM is not part of LXDE and we've never forced the use of it.Mark wrote:I've been having the same problem.

2. GDM is not a hugr app at all, if you've ever read its source code. It's quite well-written and not very heavy. Don't refuse to use a good program just because its name contains gnome. We don't care about such kind of political issues.
