I've added the main menu applet to the lxpanel, which by default uses the lxde logo. Is it possible to add text to the right side of this logo. I am assuming it is possible as it has been done in ubuntulite. They have got the logo with the word "applications" next to the logo.

How do you do that?

Yeah, its possible from within the Panel config file in ~/.config/lxpanel/PROFILENAME/panels/panel
There you will find the config for the menu and you cann add the option: name=Whateveryouwant
