I am using LXDE on a MacBook Pro with German keyboard, so I need to load the ~/.Xmodmap file on startup to get things like the @-key working.
If I run xmodmap manually after startup it works fine, but I am not able to manage to configure an autorun for it.
I tried putting something like "xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap" in a /etc/xdg/autorun/xmodmap.desktop file, in /usr/bin/openbox-lxde, in ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh, in /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart, in ~/.xinitrc but it never worked - maybe the keyboard mapping is overridden at some point during startup... I don't know - maybe someone can help me!
xmodmap autorun
Re: xmodmap autorun
Did you try /home/<user>/.config/Autostart?

Re: xmodmap autorun
You should be able to put whatever you need to run on login at the top of /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart. Leave out the "@" because that makes the command restart if it exits.
If you tried that and it didn't work, I am puzzled also. I have a few xset's in there and they work fine.
