No function volume keys on LXDE Masonux (Ubuntu)

Post by Jeff91 »

Hey There,

So I've been distro hopping of the late on my netbook trying to find the quickest/best one for it and my current stop is Masonux (remix Ubuntu version) which uses LXDE as the desktop environment. Its working great thus far the only issue I am having is that my function volume up and down keys on my EEE 900A do not work. The brightness keys do but the volume ones do not.

I found this thread on these forums, but the package it recommends installing breaks my wifi so I cannot really install that to get my sound working. Also the default volume control applet on the panel (LXDE one) has 0 affect on volume level. All in all great/quick DE I'd just love to get this working before I can move my netbook over to LXDE as the default DE.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
~Jeff
