I'm not new to linux but am new to lxde. I added the temperature monitor and it does work and i can customize the colors, but i can't change the warning1 and warning2 temperatures. is there a fix for this?

Please describe the complaint more fully. There is a place in the configuration dialog to customize the warning1 and warning2 temperatures, and I have confirmed that they do change the configured temperatures.

how else would you like me to describe it? i simply enter a number for temperatures 1 and 2 and simply nothing happens, i go back to edit and they reset themselves to 80 and 85

As mentioned, I cannot reproduce this on lxpanel 0.5.4.1. What is your lxpanel version? Are you able to do other configuration changes and they survive a login?

I have the same panel version (i'm running the debian 5.0 testing) and i can make other configurations for the temperature monitor and they work. i can make changes in anything and they work - just not those 2 numbers

edit:
i'm not sure if this will help, but my login isn't root. i'm a normal administrative account
