LXDE Crashing on Ubuntu

Greetings all,
I am running the latest Lubuntu but this is not the first release that I have problems with the window manager closing.
Usually all I am doing is reading though google reader and the screen starts blinking black. I can get to a log in by pressing ALT-CRTL-F2 and such but can not get back in unless I reboot the machine. Just now I noticed that if I am previewing screensavers it will do the same thing.
Anyone help to troubleshoot this?
I am running this on a Dell Optiplex SX260 with 512mb of Ram. Pentium 4.
Thanks!
