How to Remove Icons from Desktop?

Regarding LXDE on Peppermint OS; This is the new LXDE version, which means the 'Desktop Preferences' no longer offers the option to NOT show icons on the desktop. So, after the installation, the desktop is littered from one end to the other with EVERY folder in my home directory as well as EVERY file in my home directory. Is there any way to change LXDE such that NO icons appear on the desktop, or is it like Gnome in that the default assumes the user wants icons for every folder and file on the desktop?

Hi,

to be able to help you, please give us information like the version of Applications (PCManFM, in this case)and the version of the Distribution.

In this case I think the output of "cat .config/lxsession/LXDE/autostart" and "ls .config/autostart/", would be useful.
