Desktop resolution and character size

Hi team,
Just installed Lubuntu on some older computers to be used for eduction purposes,
and I found it running smoothly compared to gnome / ubuntu
.
I've got 5 different computers and 5 different monitors. The computers will not always
be used with the same monitor from time to time
.
Some combinations will give me a resolution at 1920x1200 on a 19" CRT.
That combination are difficult to read - no problem, using "Monitors settings"
I can change it to 1280x1024 or something like that and characters size is ok too
.
The problem occurs when want that resolution sleceted automatically at startup.
I've added the line: xrandr -s 1280x1024 to the file ~/.config/lxsession/Lubuntu/autostart
and the resolution is ok - however the font size is very small. That goes for almost all text.
I have also tried the same with the file /etc/xdg/lxsession/Lubuntu/autostart.
How can I make the character size match the resolution just like it does when I change the resolution manually?
Anyone that can give me a hint???
best regards,
bodozer
