Hi all,

I just restarted my system after setting up my lxpanel and the system tray has disappeared (altough it is in the config file) and the menu is empty except for the "run" and "logout" buttons.

ANy ideas?

Thanks

I also have a problem with the lxpanel system tray, but it's an odd one: on one installation everything is fine, with the icon for my clipboard manager (parcellite) appearing in the tray ... but on an *identical* installation the tray isn't working. These are "parallel" installs on the same machine, just different partitions; even copied all lxpanel settings from the install where things are working to the other install, but same problem. FWIW parcellite's tray icon appears fine if running fbpanel, so I'm stumped. FWIW this is using lxpanel v3.8.

Edit to add: also checked it out using stalonetray, parcellite icon appears there as well, so problem is clearly with the lxpanel tray.

Not to "bump" this thread, but I'm really curious if anyone else has encountered problems with the lxpanel system tray not working properly. ???

Thanks for any comments/thoughts/suggestions.

Hi

My systray has disappear today, too. My config Files were ignored and the only ways to get to my old Panel was doing all the stuff by hand. But the systray still doesn't work :(.

I had this happen to me many times today.

The easiest way to solve this is to "add" another menu item by right clicking on the panel. The second menu usually works and I removed the first menu.

This was the solution for Desktop Pager behaving weirdly.

As to system tray disappearing, I had to logout without saving my current session and log back in to the previously save session.

Hope this helps.

lxpanel does not appear entirely on boot. I'm missing the application launchers and the "Minimize all windows " applet. I log out then log back in and everything is back to normal. Info on system: AMD quad core 2 gig ram Nvidia 9500 video and minimal command line install of Ubuntu via the alternate install cd.

Those of you reporting problems need to understand that without supplying the version of lxpanel and identifying where you got it from, no one in development is going to be able to help you. Development is proceeding very quickly and many things have been changed and fixed in recent releases.

OS: Archlinux 64bit
lxpanel -v: 0.4.991 | svn 1879

It works for me :)

No systray here either. I'm on lxpanel svn 1968 and xubuntu 9.04, no gnome, and lxsession from svn too. Usually update manager shows in systray when it's working and wheb there are new updates. But not now. Systray is activated in panel applets and I don't dare to take it away since it is not in the applet list!?

Newer revisions of svn lxpanel seems to be only translations.

Sorry, seems update-notifier wasn't running at boot!
