On Ubuntu Server 10 I need to install and share (via Samba) a multi-purpose Canon PIXMA 760.
As the server is used only as a LAN server, I do no want to launch a GUI, apart from some management tasks.
My questions now are:

• - is LXDE able to recognize and install that Canon PIXMA?
  - does Ubuntu see that printer, if I do not launch LXDE after the installation?

This is all Ubuntu related, LXDE has nothing to do with the printer. You might get more help in the Ubuntu forums directly.
