Memory usage at startup

I am new to Lxde (running on Fedora 10), and have a question about memory usage at startup:

According to the website I should expect ~40-60 MB or RAM usage at startup. My system is currently using ~250 MB just after startup according to the task manager. What is a likely cause of this? I was using XFCE before on Fedora 10, and before that I was using Gnome, as that is what shipped with my distro CD. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I dont think 250MB is pure LXDE. Maybe som init scripts form your distro?
And can you give the difference of mem usage for gnome/xfce/lxde?
