LXPanel runs at 100% CPU

I have a Lubuntu 10.10 install.
For some reason after a small amount of use (about an hour) LXPanel starts running at 100% CPU usage.
I don't have anything too strange running. Pretty much just using Firefox and LibreOffice.
Any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot this issue?

I guess I should add my 2 cents to this post as well.
Although it has not been answered since Feb, Still putting in a bump.
My situation: I installed LXDE on top of Ubuntu 11.04 (could not use unity) it seemed to run fine, but I started noticing that the lxpanel process was eating up CPU often running at over 100% on my dual core machine. Anyway, the only way I could fix the problem was to kill the process and then re-launch. Not a good fix in any way.
Any ideas on what is causing this?

Th thing that strikes me when it happens is that evince seems to be running.
Spamming the terminal with:
lock: Permission denied
Another thing that frequently occurs when i have restarted lxpanel is i get :
lxpanel : X error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
in the terminal window.
Do not know if it points in any direction but i thought i should say i also see this issue, i also have the problem due to other issues that i cannot upgrade to a later Ubuntu right now.
