Example: Menu -> Games -> { KDE games; GNOME Games ; RPG ; Puzzle ; ... }, where 'KDE games', 'GNOME games' etc are menus inside (main) menu 'Games'.
Or ...
_____________________ / KFoulEggs
_____________________| KBounce
________/ KDE games >| KGoldrunner
________| GNOME g.. __| ... (more KDE games)
________| RPG ________\ ...
(...) ____| ...
Internet_| ... (many other submenus)
Games__>| Strategy >/ Freeciv
Office___| RPG_____\ Freecol
Other ___| Puzzle
(...) ____| A_game_without_category (etc.)
_________\ A_g_w_c_#2 (etc.)
Logout

Well, that's the idea I try to suggest. Any help ??

Maybe you could try asking in the Peppermint forum? They use a tweaked menu (I don't know if they have tweaked sub-menus, though).

Nice tip about lxmed. It can be done from the command line too exploring the xdg-desktop-menu command (easy to create a custom menu entry but probably would give more work to create a whole custom menu tree).

It would be nice to have a 'alacarte-like' menu-editor in Lxde.
I have alacarte in Lxde, but it does not do everything right.
It also takes in a 'start applications at boot' thing. Very nice.
