Make LXPanel hold closed apps

Is it possible to make LXPanel hold closed apps for easy launching. Behave basically like Unity / a dock, minimized apps would go to the same place on the panel as the launching icon. It would look like this:

Pidgin, Chromium and Pcmanfm are all ready to be executed but are shown on the panel. I know you can add launchers to the panel, but when they are running, the icon is duplicated task bar.

Is this possible at all?

Hi there,

If I understood your question correctly, I think you want it just like Unity or a Dock when there is ONLY one icon for the same application? is that what you mean?

Perhaps this is what you are looking for?

Edit: I think I understood what you mean. You don't want the same application, say Firefox to be minimized in the LXPanel but instead, in the launcher/dock ... right?
Not sure if that's possible in LXDE.

Is that Arch with LXDE?
How did you manage to place the Trash on your desktop?

Yes it is. I just followed the instructions here; http://forum.lxde.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2018

Then you either drag them to the desktop or copy/past.
