Hi,
i am using Lubuntu 11.04 and have some LxPanel Issues-after few minutes my LXPanel 0.5.6 freezes-icons are not responsive. I have to logout or restart x server. I am newbie in LXDE so i don´t know is this issue problem only at my system-which i doubt, because i have it installed on dell mini 9 and desktop computer (Shuttle xs35gtv2)
Regards and thanks.

Hello and Welcome to LXDE Forum
I'm also have Lubuntu 11.04 but luckily don't have such issue.
Could you please run this command from LXTerminal and see if that will fix your issue?

Hi,
thanks for answer. I will try this. Have no idea. Just today i had it also on my dell mini 9 again. On my shuttle xs35gtv2 almost always.
EDIT: no, it doesn´t help. Actually, as soon as it freezes i can do nothing on panel. even lxpanelctl restart in terminal does nothing...

Hi vickoxy,
Ok, I need some more info please.
How did you install Lubuntu 11.04? is this normal installation or Virtual Machine Installation?
What exactly is frozen? LXPanel? or the whole desktop?
What if you open LXTerminal and try to run some programs from there? does it make any difference?
Have you installed or done something recently?
Thank you
P.S.
The more info you provide, the better even if it seems irreverent.

I have the same issue with LXPanel on Lubuntu 11.10.
I was able to kill the process and start lxpanel via terminal, but that does not start the Lubuntu customized lxpanel.

Hello and Welcome to LXDE Forum, GTRsdk
Please be advised that Lubuntu 11.10 is still on Beta 2 stage and the final release will be soon in October.
I have it installed on two Test PCs and I have some bugs and errors.
Last night, I tried to "exit" the LXPanel:
And yes, when you do that, you lose your customized LXPanel unless you Log out or Reboot (can't remember correctly).
As for Lubuntu 11.04, I'll try to produce the same issue but I need first to hear back from the OP

Is this issue reproducible in other distributions?
For some reason, I have not had the lxpanel with the standard lxpanel settings freeze. I do not know if that is not enough testing or could that mean that the customized lxpanel is the problem?
Has anyone been able to get the lxpanel with standard settings to freeze?

I'm using Lubuntu 11.04 and Testing Lubuntu 11.10 on 2 PCs. I'm trying to reproduce this issue but so far I did not have any problem EXCEPT two issues which is not a "frozen" panel but a "stuck" panel and that is only on Lubuntu 11.10. I have reported the issue to the mailing list (I'm a member of Lubuntu Team) and I'm sure the developers are working on it. However, I don't think the problem in this topic is similar. First, it's on Lubuntu 11.04 and second, as far as the topic says, the user can't do anything when the panel got frozen. Please guys correct me if I'm wrong.

I do have standard LXPanel Settings and also a customized one but I don't have the freezing issue. Again, it's a stuck issue with Lubuntu 11.10. Sometimes, when I make a selection form the menu, it got stuck and then I have to go back to the menu and click there so it will disappear again.
Has anyone been able to get the lxpanel with standard settings to freeze?
I'll keep testing but if that issue will be on Lubutu 11.04 then I think you need to report that as a bug. Same goes with Lubuntu 11.10.

Now guys, could both of you please confirm whether your menu got "stuck" or "frozen"?
With Lubuntu 11.10, I got the stuck menu issue and since it's Beta Version then that's expected but I don't know what the real cause in Lubuntu 11.04.
Keep me updated please!
Thank you so much!

Hi,
thanks for answering. Well my panel is customized only regarding that i use one color (durchgehende barve-deckend) - middle option...
I use full install 32bit 11.04 on my both computers - shuttle xs35gtv2 and dell mini 9 with the same lxpanel setup. So, maybe the problem is that i use "only icons" option for open apps list, or maybe that i don not use system color.
And it is full frozen only lxpanel - menu icon, mail - nothing is working, but i can launch apps from cairo-dock.
