I remember feature which was available yet even in old good times of first KDE and now available in many panels but not in lxpanel - item on panel could be just picked with middle button (or selected 'move' from right-button menu) and dragged in some other place on the panel. It's a lot more visual and intuitive than go into panel properties and move 'up' and 'down' there. And why it is labeled 'up' when it's 'left' in appearance? It's understandable for programmer but it's not for new user, user gets confused with that and I had to interpret that to some users already. Don't think it should be too hard to implement, I could even try to do it myself but I lack any knowledge of X programming.
