Newbie ....Help!!

How does one configure lxterminal for the up arrow to show previous command history?

Works OK as root, but not for any other user.

FWIW, it works fine for me. I am no expert on this, so the only obvious thing that occurs to me is: Does your home directory have a file .bash_history and you have rw permission on it?
