Hello my favourite forum!
Well after installing LXDE on Sidux (where it positively rocks!) I tried it in Xubuntu.
On Xubuntu it also rocks! Of course being me, I had to screw things up though.....
I think I mistakenly deleted an LXDE folder or config file.
So now I cannot log into LXDE anymore; I just get a blank light blue screen and have to go back to login screen with str+alt+backspace (German keyboard). Then I can log into XFCE again with no problems.
I have tried removing and reinstalling LXDE.
Also tried purge command - dpkg --purge etc.
But nothing works.
Also tried removing and reinstalling with Synaptic. With both methods the installation is shown as OK, and at login prompt I can still choose LXDE but it doesn't start up - just blank blue screen.
Any ideas where to start?
Thanks in advance
E.

Seems you crashed some config files. For test purposes create a new user and log in with him.

Thanks, I did not think of this.
However I already did the total counterproductive noob fix and re-installed xubuntu. I have a dual boot system with several partitions so it wasn't a problem.
