LXDE alternative to ROX pinboard

antiX Linux uses IceWM as the default window manager and ROX pinboard for the desktop. Puppy Linux uses JWM as the default window manager and ROX pinboard for the desktop.

I understand that LXDE uses OpenBox as the window manager. What does LXDE use to provide the desktop that makes the clickable icons on the screen possible?

There are ways to install Rox pinboard but I don't think it is very compatible with Openbox, which has a right click menu that you probably lose if you do so, from what I have read. There are a variety of ways to put shortcuts on an lxde desktop. See http://lxlinux.com .
