Screen blanks every couple of seconds

Hi,

I noticed during using LXDE on Debian, the screen blanks every couple of seconds.
This does not happen when I logout and choose e.g. Gnome based session.
Earlier I worked several minutes to notice blank. I suspected Xscreensaver to perform
badly so i turned it off (chmod 644 /usr/bin/xscreensaver). Now I still have blanking
and more often than before.

Could anybody explain/help with this?

What does "xset q" have to say in the areas where mine says:

Screen Saver:
prefer blanking: yes allow exposures: yes
timeout: 600 cycle: 600

DPMS (Energy Star):
Standby: 600 Suspend: 1000 Off: 1200

Any further advices?
