I've looked all over and I do not yet know how to do it. I wish lxde had a lxde-look.org site.

Anyhow, I'm running Gentoo with Compiz Fusion and Emerald. I have everything looking good but the general theme of the windows looks a little old... and big. I'd like something light and a little more modern, and slightly glossy... maybe with a blue hint to it. Preferably, with a compact look to it (my monitor is not the bigest).

I can emerge any theme that is in portage... But I do not know which one to install, and if it will work with LXDE + Compiz Fusion + Emerald.

You can use the GTK, Openbox and Icon themes from http://gnome-look.org, http://xfce-look.org or http://box-look.org

There is an install button on the icon themes tab, but not in the window tab. How do I install gtk themes? As in I've downloaded a theme package, how do i use it in LXappearance?

Place your themes in ~/.themes and your icons in ~/.icons than you can choose them from LXAppearance.

well there was no ~/.themes, so I made one, and it didn't show up in lxappearance.

For me this works perfect. Maybe your theme is broken? What does ls ~/.themes say?

You are correct. The folders weren't arranged correctly in the extracted theme. I just arranged them like other themes and it started working.
