Kernel upgrade: Temperature monitor no longer working

I just upgraded from kernel 2.6.36 to 2.6.37 running Arch Linux on a Thinkpad T42. The temperature monitor applet in LXpanel no longer retrieves the CPU temperature. I verified that acpi temperature information from multiple sensors is there and can be read from the command line and/or conky. I also tried to configure the applet manually without success.
I'd like to know if others are experiencing this before filing a bug report.
