Some updates on PCManFM issues and roadmap

Post by PCMan »

Here are some issues/brain storming of LXDE/PCManFM

PCManFM:
http://wiki.lxde.org/en/PCManFM_Roadmap

LXPanel:
http://wiki.lxde.org/en/LXPanel_Roadmap

LXLauncher:
http://wiki.lxde.org/en/LXLauncher_Road ... ge_Support

These are only known issues and possible plans, not the final ones.
If anyone knows how to solve those issues or you can code for them, please help.

Please, did you read your mail box? did you read the forum messages?

My point of view:
- DBUS is a cheat. Very slow, ask a lot of resources, could be used only on PC.
- Nautilus, Thunard and others filemanager already are good filemanagers for PC.

I already corrected a lot of bugs in PCMANFM. Did you look at them?

I think to create a fork of pcmanfm, if I have no answer from you.

Please DON'T send patches or feature requests to my mailbox.
Post them to issue tracker instead.
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=156956
There are TOO MANY mails in my mailbox, and I'm not able to read them all.
Everytime I check my mailbox, it's flooded with dozens of new mails.
Almost all of them are bug reports and feature requests to various projects.
It's not possible for me to stay all night long in front of my laptop and use all of my leisure time just to reply those mails.
If your patch is hidden in one of those mails, it's easily ignored because I didn't notice it.
There are just too many. Also, it's not possible for one man to read all forum posts.
Getting issues into the tracker and preventing duplicated issues for better management are the ways suggested.

Stop flooding my mailbox and use bug tracker instead, please.

Some patches are reviewed, but not applied because the patches need to be fixed.
For example, one of previous inotify patches is not correct, but I'm not able to debug it now.
Another one claiming to add trash can support is not correctly done, either, and it's actually kind of dirty hack.

Sorry if your patch is missing in my mailbox. I'll recheck my mailbox as soon as possible.
