Audio problem between desktop and LCD tv

Hi everyone,
I have my desktop system hooked up to my LCD TV by means of a VGA cable. But now i want sound played through my tv as well. I bought an audio cable similar to this one: http://pics.redblue.de/doi/pixelboxx-ms ... roduct_png. The only problem is that, when i hook up the audio controler of my desktop to the tv, i don't have sound.
When i rightclick on the volume icon and select settings, i get an error message: http://forum.ubuntu-nl.org/software-en- ... 7434;image.
How do i get my sound from the desktop to my tv? Any settings to be changed?
