Hi,
My cursor randomly repositions itself when I type, it's something to do with the touch pad. This guy suggests adding the line 'Option "HWCursor" "false"' to the xorg.conf to it, but I don't have an xorg.config. Can I create one?
Thanks
Lubuntu xorg.conf and cursor jumping
Re: Lubuntu xorg.conf and cursor jumping

Thanks for the reply.
The problem with the blog post is:
1. I have a blank xorg.conf, and in fact I think I might have created that myself. It says find the section " Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Synaptics Touchpad", shall I just add that myself? Sounds a bit cowboy to me.
2. Then he goes on about accessing startup programs from the menu, he must be using ubuntu because I have no such menu item.
Any ideas?

Can't really help you but ...China Diapers wrote:...

1. I'm using Lubuntu 13.04 and I don't have /etc/X11/xorg.conf. That blog was written in 2009 and so I'm not sure whether things have changed since then.
2. I think Lubuntu's equivalent to "accessing startup programs from the menu" is, somewhat confusingly, under Menu, Preferences, Desktop Session Settings.
All the best in figuring things out! BTW, which version of Lubuntu are you using?
Re: Lubuntu xorg.conf and cursor jumping
i think the blog post mentioned by op describes three different possibilities to solve that particuar problem.
so if you just take the advice about synclient, you don't have to worry about either xorg.conf or touchfreeze.
the blog post is not very clear about it, but it becomes apparent at the end.
so, undo all your xorg.conf stuff you did and start playing with syndaemon!
that's my advice. also vasa1 got his bit right.

Thanks, it's very frustrating. I am on 13.04, same as you. I reckon I created the file late one night trying to fix this then forgot about it.vasa1 wrote:Can't really help you but ...China Diapers wrote:...

That's great. What's even better is that you had the courtesy to come back and share your solution. ThanksChina Diapers wrote:...
