Windows manager + general questions

Hi everybody.
I'm a new user in this forum and for what concerns *buntu.
I tried Ubuntu on my Netbook (Acer Aspire One AOA150) but was too heavy.
So I installed LUBUNTU (LAST VERSION) and it is great.

But I would like to know something (I like it the basic way, but wanna try to mod it just for fun).
Does anyne can explain me if there's something like KWIN for Lubuntu?
If yes, how to install it please?

Writing this post, I had some more question:
- There's a distro of Lubuntu JUST FOR Netbooks?
- In Ubuntu, when I plug in an USB device, it'll show up on the desktop and then you can unmount directly from there; could it be possibile even in Lubuntu?
- I need Adobe Flash Player, I tried to install it but it doesn't show off in my programs list: any idea why?

Thanka a lot

I am using Lubuntu on my netbook (an ASUS EeePC). It works great. In reality I am triple booting Lubuntu 12.04, Lubuntu 12.10, and Lubuntu 13.04. They have all worked great out of the box and I have done very little to tweak them. As far as I know there is no Lubuntu version just for netbooks.
I believe that Kwin is the default windows manager for KDE. Open Box is the default windows manager for Lubuntu and LXDE. In theory you can install any windows manager but do remember that it will come with a ton of dependencies. Well, maybe not a ton but certainly a lot. I believe there are other window managers that you can install if you are unhappy with Open Box.

I'm not unhappy with OpenBox, but I would like to add more animations on it.
Is it possible?
I tried installing some managers following some guides, but it didn't work: could you tell me how to?

I believe that you can install IceWM by

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install icewm iceconf icepref iceme icewm-themes
When finished, you will have a number of configuration and menu options. You can start IceWM with the startx command.
and Fluxbox

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install fluxbox fluxconf
However, Open Box is quite configurable. What is it that you want it to do?

Well, Ubuntu's animations like...
I don't know how to describe them: the bouncy thing when you enlarge the window or the "cube"...
Stuff like that.

I repeat: I like the way it is Lubuntu, I'm just having some free time and need something to fill it up! XD

Free time huh. Well back up first before deciding to try and break your install.

By fancy eyecandy. I guess you mean

The bottom bar can be cairo dock or wbar or awn. Look them up yourself. There is tons of info on them.
Same for Compiz. (wobbly windows and cube)
