zebra'd lxpanel?

I think my problem is being caused by running Audacity.
Having run Adacity my top bar looks like this (at least the right hand side does)
I would welcome advise on avoiding this happening, although I'd happily settle for a way to reset the
appearance without restarting my login (my normal working "set" has a lot of programs
across multiple desktops)
