Is it possible to add border to panel?
Or top, left, right, bottom padding / spacing... ?

Re: Panel border?
I know that you can add a border to windows in LXDE but I have not seen anywhere any information about adding a border to the LXPanel. Now, I have never looked because I do have a small monitor on a netbook so I really don't need more stuff on the screen. A Googlubuntu search has not yielded anything so far. Out of idle curiosity, why do you want a border around the LXPanel. If you want to set it off, just change the color of the Panel background.

This is my desktop (for now):

But, I need (aesthetic matter) a little more space between icons and panel edge:

(this is done with Gimp).

Re: Panel border?
I see. Try increasing the width of the LXPanel and decreasing the size of the icons by a few pixels each. That should give you a little more space. Is that what you are looking for?

Re: Panel border?
Thanx for quick response Rex.
Hmm... your sugestion is OK for left panel, but for bottom and right... here is screenshot:

Bottom panel pushes icons to top and right panel to left... is there a posibility to position icons in panels (bottom, right, left, top, middle, center)?
------
(I made right panel wider, just for example)

Re: Panel border?
Just checked it on my Lubuntu 13.10 and I have the same result that you had. Not sure if there is a way to center the icons. However, you could always change the background color. That may not be the aesthetic look that you want but it may be all that is available. Perhaps there is someone with a little more knowledge that can offer a better solution.

OK, I will post here when find something about this... hope that in next version of Lubuntu there will be some solution.
Re: Panel border?
other than this there's no other way doing it from lxpanels settings.
there's one or two possibly related settings in lxappearance, last tab, gui settings.
possibly also in the current gtk2 theme's gtkrc.
iirc, one could disable icon scaling completely.
it could also be possible with gtk2 settings in your ~/gtkrc-2.0.
here's an xfce example just to show you what kind of stuff i'm talking about
all this is a hairy buisiness, and will require many, many web searches, trial and error...

Re: Panel border?
In latest version all icons got fixed so unified in positioning - all of them are centered on panel, not pushed to border without gaps anymore. Test it, please.
