Hi,
it's not easy to get involved somehow. First of all, wiki.lxde.org reports a 500 Internal Server Error all the time. When I ask on IRC, I even don't get an answer. And the links reported in the topic of the day on IRC are 404 (http://lxde.org/contact.html, http://lxde.org/wiki/).
I wanted the examine the sources of the LxPanel to check if I can add an XEyes applet, probably with some help from the xfce sources, but I even can't manage to get the sources. And when I get them from somewhere, the readme is wrong: there is no configure command in the source tree and so on...

Re: Broken links, no feedback
I have notified the powers than be that the wiki pages of lxde.org are not available. Don't just give up yet. People are working on the problem or will be working on it shortly. Please remember that all the people here are voluteers and I believe that the ones that are working on the lxde project are as well. We willingly give our time because we like the project that we are working on and believe that our contribution no matter how small is a good thing.

Well, it does not seem as these volunteers need nor want any help.Rex Bouwense wrote:Don't just give up yet. People are working on the problem or will be working on it shortly. Please remember that all the people here are voluteers
- All issues in this forum are moderated, strange enough
- The wiki is write protected, but why should I register then? I just wanted to add an additional CR, and maybe a hint, that all projects on github are lowercase.
- There seems to be a need of real magic to build anything from lxde. First question of all: do I use git, svn or bzr, and where do I use it? How do I compile the packages, the README tells me something about configure - which does not even exist - but there is a autogen.sh (sometimes), which results in a wonderful list of unknown programs and errors (autoconf not found, intltools not found, copy error for some m4 files, automake too old [on a 3 days old system???], gtk-doc not found, ...).
I assume XFCE is a liitle bit better supported http://docs.xfce.org/xfce/building (if those hints are valid of course)

Hey, don't shoot the messenger. If you want to get involved with lxde (in a small way or a large way) I am sure that they would welcome you with open arms. See

For LXDE bugs: http://sourceforge.net/p/lxde/bugs/
For PCManFM bugs: http://sourceforge.net/p/pcmanfm/bugs/
Darn links keep getting broken.
