lxterminal hangs on exit

After installing and uninstalling several audio software and screencasting software. (Pulse, jack, recordmydesktop, vokoscreen and kazam) I managed to break a few things but it's all back to normal for the most part.
The problem I have is lxterminal just sits there when I use the exit command. Not only that, if I were to open many instances of lxterminal and close one of them all of them close. I managed to get it to sort of work but it's FAR from ideal. After I shutdown my system I need to repeat the following to get lxterminal to work properly again:
1) uninstall lxterminal
2) delete /tmp/.lxterminal-socket:0-user (necessary)
3) reboot (necessary)
4) install lxterminal
It will now work until the next time I start my system. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling lxde/lxdem completely too. It does not solve the issue. Actually it does nothing. The most important thing I need to make sure of is to get rid of that tmp file.
