in linux, this is done via packet management.
most distros have a graphical software manager, e.g. synaptic or "Lubuntu Software Center".

so what i'm saying, you do not just download files with your browser. the packet manager is doing it, and knows exactly where to put them, and, most important, whether they're compatible with your system.

so, which distro are you running?

ps: iirc, there's not so many plugins for lxpanel available. what you listed there might be about it.

On YUM I can't find plugins for LXPANEL:

Code: Select all

$ yum search all lxpanel
Plugin abilitati:langpacks, refresh-packagekit
=============================== Trovato: lxpanel ===============================
lxpanel-devel.i686 : Development files for lxpanel
lxpanel.i686 : A lightweight X11 desktop panel
menu-cache.i686 : Caching mechanism for freedesktop.org compliant menus
lxmenu-data.noarch : Data files for the LXDE menu

I'm afraid those plugins just don't exist because not much of people are bothered to write one. In the latest version one new plugin is added - Weather applet. And also development was made much simpler so let hope it will bring some new developers...
