In order to see as many files/folders as possible without scrolling too much I want to reduce the line height of the detailes view file pane on the right.

Can can I reduce the line height in details view?

How can I hide the icons left of each each file/folder line in details view?

supposing you're talking about pcmanfm:
icons: preferences --> display --> size of small icons.
line height:
either via font size or some gtk settings - different themes might handle this differently.
some settings can be influenced with lxappearance, others can be influenced by editing ~/.gtkrc-2.0-mine directly. or even the theme's gtkrc.
