How to for Newbie

How about a simple how to for newbies who want to try the LXDE from the live installation but don't know how to? I've looked and can't find any instructions on how to install it.
I have a server with Oracle Linux 7 on it and can't run Gnome on remote sessions (acceleration not found problem) and KDE has this really annoying problem of not letting me use the mouse select on remote sessions. So I thought I'd try LXDE, but I can't get it on any of Oracle's repos and I'm not even sure what repos to use without screwing up my system - so yum seems out-of-the-question.
So I thought I'd try the live installation, but I can't for the life of me figure out what to do and I can't find any instructions.
