Hi.

Can't find answer if possible show unread messages/emails count on application icon in taskbar.
I realize, this is more question to these applications. But want know, if lxpanel taskbar can show only window title text or allow display additional labels.

you probably have to install an app that shows that in the systray, and does not depend on lxpanel or lxde.
search your software center for "mail notification" or "mail notify".
