Hello !

First of all, sorry in advance if my question is rather silly . i'm a very beginner with the LXDE platform.

Here's the trouble : after installing LXDE on a Debian 8 operating system, I've installed the VLC media player from root.

Whereas it is correctly listed in the applications and in the taskbar, a double-click on the icon won't open it ; ("open with" doesn't work either)

Do you know where is the problem ?

the usual first troubleshooting step is:
open a terminal, enter 'vlc', and post the output here. preferably between code tags. thanks.
PS: don't be root when doing this.

Since you installed it as root, you probably have to be root to open it.
