Hi all,
I'm a brand new Linux user and English speaker learning German.
In addition to standard English keyboard I would like to add German qwerty keyboard so I can quickly access the special letters. However Lxde does not show this in the list of German keyboards.
This is strange because all the other desktop environments that I have installed (xfce, mate, cinnamon, lxqt) have this keyboard as an option. Running Debain 9 Stretch on 2 different machines, same problem.
What can be the issue? Why isn't Lxde recognizing it when every other DE has it. How do I fix it?
I really want to use Lxde.

correct the standard German keyboard is qwertz, but that's not what I like.
a qwerty keyboard exists in the other Desktop environments and that is the one I would like to use.
