Debian Bullseye (11)

After a multitude of updates and rebooting server, now at login each user does not have sound along with no speaker icon showing.
if a given user logs out,of LXDE, logs into Gnome ,then speaker is appearing along with sound available. Log out of Gnome and log into an LXDE desktop and sound works as expected.
By accident found this fairly simple workaround to get sound in LXDE but don't know how to troubleshoot to do a real fix of the prob.

When you’re in LXDE and don’t have sound, please open a terminal and enterdoes it return a number, a process ID, a pid?

Sorry for late reply. No when i run the command you listed nothing is returned. This started about a month after umpteen updates from Debian.

You need to add pulseadio to your startup applications.
