After a recent system update, the task bar (window list) item in my panel expands without limit as new windows are created. Each new window adds an icon to the task bar, until eventually the task bar pushes the items to the right of it off the panel.

Is there a way to cap the size of icons in a task bar (window list)? Before the update, they would get smaller as I opened more windows.
