Distributions with LXDE installation images (2022)

Since Lubuntu switched to LXQt it's not so easy to find a distro that actually features LXDE.

This list is by no means complete, please feel free to suggest more - if it has a downloadable installation medium that already contains a preconfigured LXDE, post it here!
That said, there's many, many distros that offer LXDE as a desktop option during install, or have a LXDE metapackage in their repositories. Most major distros for sure.
Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the distros listed, it is just what I found after some searching.

PS: the LXDE wiki used to have a page about Linux distributions, too.

Greetings,

FYI, Gentoo Linux still has LXDE in the portage tree, so you always have the choice for LXDE there, too.

NOTE: For those unfamiliar, Gentoo Linux doesn't have any desktop by default until you choose to build one.

I hope that helps.

Manjaro link is giving error 404. The LXDE environment is also no longer listed in the options. :(

Void linux also has LXDE in it's repositories but no live CD install, its a manual install thing and the Void community appears to have no HOW2 info.

8-) I just joined here to say that WattOS has revamped to a Debian BULLSEYE 11 -LXDE! I put it on my Lenovo Thinkpad T540p. I tried with frustration and anxiety the other "updated" distros, but did not like the methodologies or bloat.
The Website is : https://www.planetwatt.com/ ...for the download and info.... nice and clean. 8-)

It's good to know that LXDE is available in the Void Linux repositories, even though it may require a manual installation process. While Void Linux may not provide a live CD installation with LXDE included, the fact that it is available in the repositories means that users can still install and configure LXDE on their Void Linux systems manually.

WattOS's decision to base their distribution on Debian Bullseye 11 is likely to bring many benefits, including access to the latest software packages and improvements from the Debian project.

Puppy Linux community has LXDE versions:

Based on Slackware Current (64-bit & 32-bit): http://www.smokey01.com/peebee/LxPupSc64-23.01.htm http://www.smokey01.com/peebee/LxPupSc32-23.01.htm

Based on Ubuntu Jammy Jellyfish (32-bit only): http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/pu ... -22.04.htm

also "ydrv" addons for various other Puppy Linux builds.
