Hello.
May seem like a dumb question, but can I use sddm to boot into lxde?
SDDM with LXDE
Re: SDDM with LXDE
Hi. Welcome to the LXDE Forum.
Yes. Any desktop manager, SDDM, LightDM, etc. will login to an LXDE session. There will be a pull-down list on the login screen where LXDE can be selected and that selection stays persistent between sessions or logins, until you change it.

Re: SDDM with LXDE
Thank you for the clarification! I appreciate the confirmation that I can indeed use SDDM to boot into LXDE. It's good to know that I have the flexibility to choose LXDE from the pull-down list on the login screen, and that the selection remains persistent until I decide to change it. This information will definitely help me set up my system the way I want it. Thanks again for your helpful response!edward wrote: ↑Tue Feb 14, 2023 7:37 pm Hi. Welcome to the LXDE Forum.

An LXDE session can be logged into with any desktop manager. This includes SDDM, LightDM, etc.
Re: SDDM with LXDE

Yes, it is possible to use SDDM (Simple Desktop Display Manager) as the login manager to boot into LXDE (Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment). SDDM is a display manager that is commonly used with the KDE Plasma desktop environment, but it can also be used with other desktop environments, including LXDE. Donkey Kong
