I recently decided to revive an old laptop that's been gathering dust. After doing some research,, I chose to install LXDE due to its lightweight nature; which seemed perfect for the outdated hardware. The installation went smoothly but I am facing a few challenges that I could really use some advice on:
- Battery life:- The battery drains pretty quickly, even with minimal usage. Are there any power management tweaks within LXDE that can help extend battery life: ??
- Screen tearing:- I have noticed a bit of screen tearing, especially when watching videos or scrolling through web pages. Is there a way to fix this in LXDE, particularly on older Intel-based graphics: ??
- Speed improvements:- While LXDE is fast, I am wondering if there are additional settings or apps I can disable to get even more speed out of this machine. Any suggestions on slimming it down even more: ??
