Welcome

Currently there is no weather plugin, but you can fill in a future request on sourceforge.net. Or if you are familiar with C you could try to code this plugin ;)

This might go better as a separate application with a systray icon.

Think so, too.

@Rinaldus: You can use gdesklets. There is a weather plugin available.

I really miss the weather applet that gnome 2 allows.

So far, with gdesklets installed through synaptic and gdesklets.de, I cannot get news rss or any of the three weather desklets to work. I noticed after installing a desklet, you need to find & download the controll pyc file, then extract it to the control folder (this alone didn't work), then rename it after the desklet.pyc (wild guess that worked). The desklet will then run without complaint, but still no radars.

I am scratching my head to figure out why the control would not be part of the install routine. Makes no sense. Anyway, the result is something that doesn't work after fiddling for an hour.

Wmweather+ is a 64x64 desktop applet that works in openbox. It has a radar map, but it is not expandable and therefore useless.

My solution was more than perfect: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... x-weather/
Because:

1. ever have FireFox opened
2. this addon has all!! customizable, full of data, nice, etc...

I recommend it.

I use weather indicator (LU12.10AMD64) - it shows temp and icon accordingly to reports but not forecast

I echo caos30 above. The Forecastfox weather add-on to Firefox is the best weather component that I have seen - better than any panel weather indicator. It actually has a pop-up radar map that is large enough and detailed enough to be useful.
