I agree wicd is the best I've used, and not heavy on system resources.

Hi
I agree. I've heard, that it make problems on fedora, but on my Archlinux it works perfect.

Huh?

What you showed me at CLT was far from perfect, at least for WPA protected networks. Wicd does not necessarily make problems on Fedora, but whenever NetworkManager is still running in the background.
BTW: I recommend conman from Moblin.

Oops you're right, I'm always forgetting this, cause I'm not using WPA. But there was an update for wicd. I will test if it is able to connect to WPA networks.
But I can recommend netcfg, this isn't really a networkmanager, You can make profiles for your connections and use them to connect. But i haven't tested them with WPA, will test this, too. When my new router has arrived.

Dito, have you tested it with WPA, too? Otherwise i will test it, while I'm at it.

PS: Thx Christoph, forgotten this little detail

EDIT: Update is fine, wicd now even works with my hidden wpa2 wireless network. I'm using a "Asus w500g Premium v2" Router.

I am using wicd 1.5.9 with wpa2 without any issue.

nano /etc/conf.d/net

Works best and fastest and I get the results I expect. Every manager seems to have some differences with my box and is preventing me from connecting.
