hi
a/ seamonkey and instantbird
i am using the beta version of seamonkey 2.0 (is like firefox 3. but with as suite with email, composer, irc-chat and adressbook as usual in seamonkey, see at http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/ ... est-trunk/ ) in /usr/lib/seamonkey/seamonkey and the alpha version of instantbird in /usr/lib/instantbird/instantbird (is a compact instant messenger because you don't need KDE or Gnome components; see at http://instantbird.org).
the mozilla guys give the package as *.tar.bz2. it is very easy to open with a tar -xvjf *.bz2 command and to move into /usr/lib where the other browser find her place.
but what is to do
a1) - to get an icon in the main menu of LXDE
a2) - to place an icon on the desktop
a3) - to get an icon of favorite application in the task bar of LXDE to start it first
a4) - to see a permanent icon of the started messenger if it is closed to reopen it to use it
b/ webcam
I know only one multiple instant messenger able to manage the webcam with yahoo or msn friends, kopete. it is of course nonsens to install LXDE and use kopete because you have to install a great part of the KDE for kopete. or meebo for example in a good browser like seamonkey. but i find that the tuning of the webcam is not easy outside of kopete.
what other ways are possible to tune best the webcam first and after that use it through the browser?
my installation:
actual Debian testing i86 (fresh net installed from check card iso with only the main applications but not the office applications because they install Gnome)
