Hello, how can I edit some shortcuts for (desktop) icons, for example (ctrl-shift-e for starting scite or ctrl-shift-o for firefox, ....)?

Hi

You have to options, use lxde-rc.xml from openbox or use something like xbindkeys. Have a look at the documentation of the tool you want to use, they are both very good. Short explanation: If you want to use lxde-rc.xml (in ~/.config/openbox/) you have to edit an xml file and it only works in Openbox (the windowmanager) if you don't want to change the windowmanager, this would be the easiest way.

Hello maces, thank you for your answer. I will give it a try. It would be cool, if I could simply rightclick on a desktop icon to assign a hotkey to start that app.

Addendum: on sourceforge I saw lxshortcuts project. The name sounds promising. edit app shortscuts; is it that, what I look for?

You can create *.desktop files with this application. This applications can be placed on the desktop or in the panel, for quick access, but unfortunately you can't assign hotkeys.

Not a solution, but maybe a trick to a quicker access to programs or desktop icons.

What about a panel plugin, which pops up with an (editable) listbox with
a) either various programs, which the user can edit (not icons side by side, as it is in "Application Launch Bar)
or
b) a list of the desktop icons

starting with alt-f2 would be also fast, but I miss here remembering the last entries with a combobox, where, say, the last 10 started applications are listed, and are also stored for the next start of lxde.
That would be helpful for fast access.

a) I think that's just only another order
b) That's like the Icons in the Panel or *.desktop-files on the desktop

starting with alt-f2 is fast, seeing the last 10 applications listed might be faster, but I for one faster typed in the name of the application, than choosing from a list, but that's only my personal opinion ;).
