Make Firefox the default

For some reason Firefox wasn't the default, when I clicked "Web Browser" nothing happened. I had to click Firefox Web Browser on the menu, and whenever a program tried to use a browser it wouldn't run. So I thought i'd copy everything on the .desktop of Firefox at /usr/share/applications to the .desktop of lxde-x-www-browser or something like that. It only made things worse :( Now Web Browser won't run and Firefox disappeared, I can only run it via command line. Any help? Thanks.

Solved by complete reinstallation (I was needing it anyway).

I had this problem too. There is another solution. Copied from http://wiki.lxde.org/en/LXDE:Questions# ... browser.3F.

As root:

Code: Select all

# update-alternatives --config x-www-browser
