Panel Applet Settings Options Disabled

I'm using lxpanel in an openbox session and most of the panel applets I have installed (show desktop, menu, pager, cpu monitor and volume control) have the settings option in the right click menu greyed out.
Is there any way to activate the feature?

most of the plugins dont offer many options for configuration till now!
But they are going to be improved...
are you thinking about any special feature?

Well, I would like the volume control applet to be able to call alsamixer. I'd also like to be able to have two on screen. One showing the controls for my soundcard and the other the controls for my usb phone.
As for the others, apart from the pager (which it'd be nice if you could choose a background, or even transparency), I was just curious as to what the settings controls were supposed to change.

For myself i edited the volumealsa plugin for selecting a Mixer via gui, but this is far from being perfect...
Opening alsamixer is a good idea!
changing the pager colors would not require too many actions and i am sure we are seeing many improvements soon!

I was wondering the same thing. The settings options for a lot of the panel options are greyed out.

What's up with that?

As I mentioned before these plugins are at an early stage of developement.
But those features will be hopefully added soon.

I get the picture; it just looks like something's broken, because the options are there, but greyed out and you can't use them.

Personally, I would like to see the option for specifying a number of virtual desktops in the pager.
I'd have already switched over to fluxbox, openbox, or *something* if there was an option to have a pager in which I could specify how many desktops I could have, and how they are laid out (i.e. 2 rows, 3 rows, etc.)
*by "I'd have already switched" I meant switched from kde, not from lxde
