lxsession-logout: Hide not relevant buttons

Is it possible to hide buttons on the logout menu that are not relevant for a particular user?
I have HAL configured to prevent, e.g., Shutdown, but the button still appears nevertheless. In xfce, the buttons are at least greyed-out.
